Nestled among the trees on a 4-acre lot along the Quyon River, this property is elegantly decorated with original Canadian artwork and furniture, offering the perfect setting for vacations or remote working. It is practically located within walking distance of the village of Quyon and 2 minutes by car from the interprovincial ferry, as well as Pontiac quad trails. The chalet has a fully equipped kitchen and a large spa. Lovers of birdwatching and wildlife observation, especially deer, will be delighted!

The property
This cottage offers a peaceful hideaway, ideal for enjoying on site or for day trips in the Pontiac region or the National Capital Region. Tastefully decorated, the cottage features original works by several Canadian artists as well as unique furniture made from local trees, designed by the host with the help of a local artisan. Immerse yourself in the spa for 7 to 8 people, integrated into the pontoon and perfect for admiring the stars! Enjoy a picnic in the garden or an evening around one of the beautifully designed propane or wood fireplaces. Relax in front of the 65” television in the main room or relax on the mezzanine overlooking the surroundings. See local wildlife, including a curious deer family, a few stealthy foxes, and numerous bird species. Take a short stroll to your private beach and swimming spot under the Quyon River Falls. Paddleboard or swim in the river (depth varying from 1 to 5 feet depending on the season), from the falls or the seasonal dock under the cottage.

Your neighbourhood
The Quyon ferry is the largest on the Ottawa River. It operates from spring to November and leaves the dock every 10 minutes. It is a wired electric ferry, offering a very smooth crossing. It takes you to Fitzroy Harbour, which is part of the city of Ottawa. A short walk to the village of Quyon will take you past the new Egan mill, which offers organic flour milled on site, fresh eggs, local maple syrup, as well as an ice cream shop and a small museum. Bring your mountain bike and join the Club Quad trail just 2 minutes away by car. This trail crosses the entire Pontiac and can even take you to the Laurentians if you wish. A day trip to Coulonge Falls will make everyone happy! In winter, the cottage offers 23 acres for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Numerous other winter activities, including ice fishing, are available nearby, including at the Pine Lodge in Bristol or elsewhere in Pontiac. Biking or snowmobiling enthusiasts? Discover the Cycloparc PPJ, whose trails start just 5 minutes from the chalet. Activities like whitewater rafting are also available at several locations in Pontiac. Do you want to organize or attend an event, go to the gym or play pickleball? The Quyon Community Center, located next to the Ottawa River ferry, is only 2 minutes away. Information is available from the municipality of Pontiac. Outdoor sports fans will love Gatineau Park, just a few minutes away. Ski resorts and water parks are also easily accessible in the greater Ottawa-Gatineau region.

Transportation
We are discreetly located on Highway 148 between Egan Street and the Quyon River, only 2 minutes from the Quyon Ferry, 25 minutes from Aylmer and 15 minutes from Shawville.

Other information
Use of spaces: Travelers can use all spaces except for the garage in the basement (reserved exclusively for the host). Parking: Dedicated parking includes 1 space under the carport and 3 or more additional spaces. A universal electric vehicle charging station is available in the carport. Accessibility: Autonomous arrival using a key box located at the side door. Your host will provide you with the code. A key will be given to you for the duration of your stay. You can put it back in the key box upon departure. Two steps are required to access the front and side doors. They are accessible with a walking aid (cane or walker). Access to the rooms is via stairs; however, people with reduced mobility can use the sofa bed in the living room. The spa is accessible 12 feet from the patio door. Kitchen: Fully equipped with lots of cooking utensils, spices and small appliances, including an air fryer. Relaxation areas: Inside: main open area and mezzanine, each equipped with a television. Outside: balcony, areas around outdoor fireplaces and picnic area. Office space: Plug in your laptop or use the iMac on site. Printer available on site. Heating/humidity: An air exchanger maintains the humidity in the cottage at 38%. Two heat pumps provide uniform heating and air conditioning on the ground floor and on the mezzanine. The basement is heated by electric baseboards. Outdoor fireplaces: A propane fireplace located 60 feet from the balcony. Two wood fireplaces: one at the bottom of the hill near the river and another near the beach. Wood and firewood are provided at both locations. A private beach is available along the Quyon River, about a 3-minute walk away. Books and games available on site. Rackets provided free of charge: 1 large pair, 1 medium pair. Snow removal: Usually done before 7 am, 7 days a week, after an accumulation of more than 10 cm. Can be redone within 24 hours depending on snowfall. Shovels are available on site for doors, balcony, trails, and outdoor fireplaces. Safety and electricity: A safety deposit box is available on site. Smoke detectors are installed on each floor. Carbon monoxide detectors are also present on each floor. A fire extinguisher is in the cabinet under the counter, to the left of the stove in the kitchen. The propane generator automatically starts during a power outage and automatically shuts off when the electricity is restored.
